The Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship, which empowers Australia’s brightest minds to pursue their global ambitions, has just become even more generous, with future scholars now eligible for awards of up to $AUD 100,000 p.a. towards tuition, living and travel expenses.

The increased scholarship value, up from $AUD 90,000 p.a., is designed to assist future scholars adjust to higher international tuition fees, poorer currency conversions and increased cost of living pressures. 

The increase ensures that the scholarship remains one of Australia’s most generous for Australians studying abroad. It is in keeping with the spirit of the late Paul Ramsay AO, a leading Australian businessman and philanthropist, whose extraordinary generosity and vision led to the creation of the Ramsay Centre, and these scholarships in his name.

First offered in 2021, the Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship offers an exceptional pathway for future leaders, innovators and change makers. With its unique multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional approach, the scholarship enables postgraduate study at the world’s most prestigious institutions – including Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard. More than just financial support, the Scholarship invests in future leaders to reach their potential so they can give back and make a lasting impact on Australia.

Scholars are invited to attend a leadership-focused Orientation event in Sydney, as well as leadership development workshops, networking and engagement events abroad.

In just five years, the Ramsay Centre has offered this transformative educational experience to 141 young Australians; now a community of motivated leaders committed to driving meaningful change and shaping a stronger future for Australia and the world.

Ramsay Centre CEO Dr Martin Fahy said the scholarship presented a rare opportunity to join this exceptional community. In just the last cohort of 28 scholars, seven are University medallists, and all are emerging leaders in their fields.

“In Paul Ramsay’s name we back the bold ideas of every scholar, providing the support, and opportunities they need to turn ambition into impact,” Dr Fahy said. “We hope that this increase in the value of our scholarship eases some of the cost pressures for our scholars so they can further focus on their academic and leadership opportunities.”

Applicants can now apply for $AUD 100,000 for a one-year Master’s degree, $AUD 200,000 for a two-year Master’s, and $AUD 300,000 for a doctoral degree. They must secure a place in their chosen program before applying, and scholarships are not available for part-time, executive or online-only study.
