Chief Executive Officer
Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation
The Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation was established in March 2017 through an extraordinary endowment and generosity of the eminent Australian businessman, the late Mr Paul Ramsay AO. The Centre’s objective is to advance education by promoting the study of the “great conversation” of Western Civilisation through the great books programs, undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, summer schools, public lectures, seminars, symposia and other events to promote a wider and critical appreciation of Western Civilisation.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading the strategy and advancement of the Ramsay Centre to achieve its mission promoting a better understanding and greater appreciation of Western Civilisation and its contribution to Australia by creating a space for debate and innovative proposals, generating ideas, and providing intellectual resources to the public and the wider Australian community.
Working with the Board and leading and developing a small, high-calibre team, the CEO manages all aspects of the Centre to support the Ramsay vision, while maximising its potential to attract significant resources beyond those generously made available from the Paul Ramsay Foundation. This will involve developing strategic, collaborative and co-operative ventures with business, alumni and other partners, including educational institutions, think tanks, government and non-government agencies.
The role calls for an accomplished executive, strategic thinker and creative leader with highly developed negotiation and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated knowledge of and passion for Western Civilisation, including the liberal arts and ‘great books’ tradition is required. The Board is seeking a collaborative team player, skilled leader and advocate for the Centre to elevate its profile through the development of consequential partnerships in Australia and globally.
A very attractive, market-based remuneration package will be offered to attract a candidate of the highest order.
